@FlashMobOfOne That's a great suggestion- I have socks I need to darn! But darning and I don't always get along, I have to be in the right mood to do it and ... yeah. I could! But I don't want to.

@FlashMobOfOne I also consider myself to be a humanist and cannot deal with crowds. Luckily for me, husband understands I can only take so much and then I need quiet time. Even at other relative's houses I'm known to retreat either physically or inward when enough becomes too much. I think I spent maybe too much time alone in the woods as a kid.

@FlashMobOfOne Yes! I've journaled about it a few times also, in notebooks that aren't my journal - I'm pretty sure I left it at my mom's in NH in August. It'll be good to go up next week to see her and (I hope) find it. I keep forgetting to ask her about it. Anyhoo ... writing always helps!

@FlashMobOfOne I'd probably passive-aggressively do it back at him, but a more reasonable response is to ask him if he would prefer a phone call or an email but you don't have time or energy for both, so make him pick. If he chooses phone, keep a log of the calls and what you requested for CYA purposes.

@VocalDerbyGuy @FlashMobOfOne That's awesome! The last bout I went to was coincidentally attended by one of the mean girls who lives in another state now. I haven't been back but would consider going again with other vets (like last time) or someone who's never been. I really miss the thrill of it and still (admittedly) jam in traffic and in stores on occasion (which I can't help when my patience is low and don't recommend).

@FlashMobOfOne @VocalDerbyGuy That's how I ended up feeling. I started watching the clock, first during bouts and then during practices, even the "fun" ones. I kind of also got Mean Girled along with most of my team & the rest of the league and that added to it.

@VocalDerbyGuy @FlashMobOfOne Oh wow!!! And here I thought MADE was about speed! That's how my home team was the league champion for 4 years in a row - we did speed & endurance at the end of every practice.

@FlashMobOfOne @VocalDerbyGuy ISARS is as tough as WFTDA after skating MADE. A friend and former league-mate is on the US National Team and they play USARS, IIRC. It was a rough transition- she also plays WFTDA now too - I don't know how she keeps it all straight.

@FlashMobOfOne @VocalDerbyGuy TY for the link! The venue reminds me of my first soul-crushing WFTDA game in 2013 (my league played MADE rules 2011-2016). Last jam was me & the opposing team's jammer who had lead but lost it w/ a penalty- we went the whole 2:30 and they spent at least half of that hitting me out and backtracking 20 feet. Soul crushing only begins to describe it.
