@FlashMobOfOne Wow! That's amazing! Tangentially related: do you remember the super entertaining https://jesusoftheweek.com? That's where I first encountered Buddy Christ and the vSt variety of his sibling Christs.
@FlashMobOfOne That's great! I managed to sleep another hour after pet breakfast time and feel really good now. It’s a good day to have a good day! (Or at least a good morning)
@FlashMobOfOne Oh hai. I hope it worked (I'm working my way through my timeline). Rosie woke me up at 4 and now I'm just up. There will be a nap later!
@FlashMobOfOne Same - by this time on a Saturday I'm 2-3 in, with 1 more allowed after that and then all the water. (Yes, I know my tolerance and gauge what I drink by what I can handle without blacking out, which is no fun.) I feel really good today and I got good sleep last night - I was all jacked up from drinking coffee at 2pm and took a trazadone to sleep.
@FlashMobOfOne Hm. This actually gives me an idea: mushroom gravy is what a lot of people use to make poutine. So this could be a shortcut to some poutine in my mouth (salivating now just thinking of it). Mmm poutine. And I can get cheese curds at one of my grocery stores (Wegmans).
@FlashMobOfOne I don't know if I could do that for gravy; I'm still anti-cream of mushroom soup since it was featured in so many of the casseroles my mom made. I disliked mushrooms so much then, I'd pick the little bits of them (brought in by the soup) out of the my portion of the casserole.
@FlashMobOfOne Mmmm salisbury steak! That makes me think of the old school frozen dinners of the 70s that came in aluminum trays. I loved the brownie and the steak with gravy & mashed potatoes. Chock full of preservatives but so delicious. #food
@FlashMobOfOne Yes, Benedict Cumberbund's (as an old friend calls him) character is a shit, an absolute shit and so is the puppet extension of him - but I can get past that (somewhat, anyway) by allowing that masculinity and social relationships were different in the mid 80s, including women's roles in society. And the homophobia and sexism and police corruption that still turn up today. And I think the series did a reasonable job of also showing the impact of generational trauma. Worth it.
@FlashMobOfOne I agree and I don't plan to do this for very long. I mean, I'm even the one who had to tell my Mom her little brother is in the hospital- it's so strange to be in that position.
@FlashMobOfOne I've had the protective gear talk with a lot of people who've taken up casual skating. And it actually convinced at least 1 person to wear some gear.
@FlashMobOfOne Thanks. I met him through derby; his org, Stillbrave, is really helpful to so many families dealing with a childhood cancer diagnosis and treatment. I hope it continues on, even without him.
@FlashMobOfOne That's so funny - my former league mates, all retired, were talking about how time takes on a different shape when you're playing derby and supporting a league vs. being retired/semi-retired. You suddenly have all this time! Actually, that's true for parenting also; you start getting time back and are all "WTF do I do now?" but then you find things. :)
@haeckerfelix Woah - you just solved why my TV turns off when we get up from one part of our new sectional sofa. I hope you figure out a solution to the problem other than the obvious: reupholster the seat with a less static-prone fabric.
