Finally finished "Chasing Ghosts," my free #photography book! Might still be some buggy links and I might go back and do some editing for style or tweaking the images some more. But I'm happy enough with what I've got apart from that.

I like it here. I want to stay. This place feels like a strange bittersweet dream that lingers just on the edge of recollection in the morning. I have to rebuild my life from nothing but damn, here I am. I will gladly be broke for a while if it means I can immerse myself in these spaces weekly.

It's weird having a legendary cathedral full of incredible Gothic art like right there by the shop where I get my film developed (Lambertin shares a wall with the cathedral).

And it's just THERE and it's like "yeah, wow, that's a thing huh?" And it's basically no trouble to go there.

If I seem depressed it's not because I'm here. It's because I'm so afraid I can't stay.

Please... I want to grow old here in peace and rest my bones at Melaten one day, in a Gothic tomb. I want to become fluent in German and learn Cologne and Leverkusen as well as I knew Portland, Little Rock, and Las Vegas. I don't feel as homesick as I imagined I would. Not at all.

Trump's designs on Greenland should be viewed as seriously as Hitler's intentions on Poland should have been. Yet I see both European and American politicians and media utterly failing to grasp this.

I will now go ahead and say that the answer to whether or not I will go to my tournament this year is a tentative yes.

My father has agreed to help with the biggest expense which is air fare. Thankfully PDX>YYZ isn't a hard flight to get.

Just hope the plane doesn't disintegrate.

All I can say to that is If I die on the way to a tournament, bury me like a knight, under a beautiful effigy of how I looked in my best kit. And celebrate me with wine and song and carousing.

I'm redoubling my efforts to escape the US for my own mental health, regardless of who wins in 2024 or any other development. It's become clear to me that I can't recover in a country that is collapsing around me.

I already have a friend in northwest Germany who is willing to help me get settled with EU residency. Once I have residency I may choose another country. But the more money I have the sooner I can get started.

@Fayedray @charliejane You know that the bill's co-sponsor, Marsha Blackburn, has said this is really about silencing people like us right?

If, for example, Florida's AG sees trans content as "harmful to children," he could sue social media platforms so that it becomes too costly for them to allow us to exist publicly. They would be forced to silence us.

You're acting against your own interests. This won't help anyone. It will just force us into silence. You aren't immune.

Take a look at who's being targeted.

Non-white people.
Immigrants.
LGBTQ+.
Furries.
Anarchists.
Non-Christian religions.

The common denominator is community. This is a deliberate move by capital to make people isolated and demoralized so they are easy to control.

There are no accidents.

Capitalism kills community, and it is VERY much on purpose. It is a religion of human misery and must be destroyed with extreme prejudice and soon.
