@freemo i tip 0% by default. I've rarely experienced service I thought was tip worthy. in every place that offers tipping, the staff are doing the minimum effort required by their job description.
the one exception I can think off was unusually professional service offered by one energetic employee at a Taco Bell of all places. i actually took time out of my day to email the company praising the young man.
i think tipping be banned altogether. tipped employees should be paid like everyone else. if you wanna slip an employee some extra cash under the table because they could use it or they are going above an beyond, be my guest, but it should not be institutionalized. keep it under the table.

@kaia I keep getting recommended trainings for professional project management at work. You can even get certified as a PM. As far as I can tell, "project manager" is just a fancy word for someone who is competent at their job. you know the education system is an utter failure when you need a post-college certification to prove you're worth hiring.

@kaia no, but I expect it's like eating at walmart: it's the low-tier, bargain brand valentine's dinner for those who can't afford something fancier. a 3 course meal at even a mid-level restaurant where I live would probably run you between $60-$100. no everyone can afford that. of course that can be partly attributed to bad financial management. some Americans don't even know what a budget is.

@kaia My first guess was that they were Dutch names, but the signs are in english. then I thought may they are African-American names since they like to spell things differently to feel decolonized, but the girls are white. so now I genuinely left scratching my head.
