    Reading The Internet of Consent by @anildash yesterday was a good prompt for me to write up my reflections on a panel I spoke on last week about whether it's possible to achieve informed consent for #edtech used in schools. Would love to hear your thoughts. #parenting #privacy #consent https://elvery.net/drzax/everyone-knows-you-didnt-read-the-terms-and-conditions-so-whats-the-point/

      Everyone knows you didn't read the terms and conditions, so what's the point?
      The privacy and consent process around use of technology in schools (edtech) is a mess. I've recently done some reporting on it and was also part of a panel discussion: 'Can schools achieve informed consent with digital technology?'

    @johnallsopp 💯 — I don't understand how this isn't completely obvious to everyone involved.

    Anyone know of a list of #ActivityPub client apps (i.e. supports the AP client-to-server protocol, not (only) the Mastodon/Pixelfed/Pleroma/etc APIs)?

    It seems like *maybe* Pleroma is the only #ActivityPub server software that attempts to support C2S, but I can't actually find any current documentation about it. The only attempt at a client I can find is AndStatus, but it's Android only.

    The reason I'm looking is that now I have the @posts identity working I would sometimes like to act as that identity (replies and such, mostly) without creating a "blog post". And I don't really feel like cloning the Mastodon server API so I can use an app.

    I’ve been really enjoying watching the restoration of Tally Ho on YouTube. Boat restoration is an insane amount of work.

    I should be clear — this boat isn't Tally Ho. but it is a nice boat restoration story. Here is Tally Ho https://www.youtube.com/@SampsonBoatCo

      I’m on a mission to rebuild a 1910 English sailing yacht called Tally Ho. Designed by Albert Strange in 1909, she is a well-known and important historic vessel – but after many adventures she was left in a remote port in Oregon to rot for decades, despite some valiant attempts to rescue her. I bought her and moved her to the Olympic Peninsular earlier this year, and am now rebuilding her from the keel up. Eventually I hope to sail her back to the UK.

    Will this go faster if I sit here and watch it?
