Seems like #Matrix is now popular enough to attract #spam. Something I only knew from #XMPP until last week but now I also receive strange stuff from random people via Matrix.

That's really ridiculous. #Google decided to remove the #xmpp client #Conversations because they think it uploads contact data.

Beside the fact that it doesn't upload any contact data, there are many mainstream messengers which exactly do this, all available on #gplay.

Additionally it seems to be extremly hard or even impossible to get in contact with someone who can explain the decision and revert it.

Such gatekeepers are extremly harmful.

Hope it is not a to emotional and controversial question: If you would buy a #Linux #Notebook today... #Intel or #AMD ? And why would you chose one over the other?

Great article by @evanprodromou . I completely agree, #ActivityPub has to win if we want to have a great social web. Don't get seduced by the shiny marketing of the next VC driven social network (protocol).

@dansup @pixelfed Is there a rough timeline when the Android app will be available in the Play Store? I can install/update it manually, but without the Play Store, you miss out on a lot of Pixelfed users.
