    @ryanc
    Thanks, will peruse.

    Looks like ANSI is 16 colors; something else must be at play for 24-bit.

    @ryanc
    Does it use Unicode? That might be why it didn't work well for me.

    Also, I wouldn't have thought ANSI supported 24-bit color. ANSI was created in the 80s, yes?

    @libreoffice
    My post was more one of frustration than an abortive bug report.

    I loaded a PDF in LibreOffice, and its two columns of text were overlapping. It works fine in xpdf.

    I *do* appreciate the work of those who work in free software. But I've also observed lopsided development in long-term projects. Firefox has left bugs unfixed for decades.

    LibreOffice showing such an obvious flaw indicates a larger structural problem than a bug report can address.

    Thanks for your quick response.

    It's 2025. Why can LibreOffice (@libreoffice) still not handle fonts in PDFs correctly?

    Do you have a pointer regarding the DoJ position? I found and read the 2022 OLC opinion, but it doesn't take that position.

    Thanks, Catherine.

    The OLC's bottom line seems to be "Whether the ERA is part of the Constitution will be resolved not by an
    OLC opinion but by the courts and Congress.".

    Step 2: post about it
    Step 1: check GitHub
    🙃

    It looks like this one:
    https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/25837

    I'll see if I can add more detail to the issue; maybe that'll help diagnose it.

    Seeing a strange #Mastodon #bug here. When I'm slowly scrolling up a feed in the web UI, and I approach a toot with an embedded audio element (not quite on the screen yet), the scrolling feed will skip back a little bit, so that as I keep scrolling slowly, the toot never appears. If I scroll faster or otherwise jump to that location, it works fine. The toot itself behaves normally.

    Not a big deal, obviously, but odd and a little inconvenient. Any insight? (chief @tek?)
