I don’t live near Texas, but I subscribe to the @TexasObserver because they produce excellent reporting on stories with national impact that are worth reading anywhere in the US — not just TX. This investigative piece on prison labor is a great example: https://www.texasobserver.org/texas-prison-plantations/
If you want to let #TraderJoes know how you feel about anti-union activities, a very easy way to do so is go to the URL below (a feedback form). I entered my name, local store (search my zipcode) and the message, “I love my local Trader Joe’s! And I will personally help organize a customer boycott if TJ’s continues to suppress union-related activities.” Took me 30 seconds. https://www.traderjoes.com/home/contact-us/local-tjs-feedback
@ryanhoulihan Language usage changes over time. I’m still working on having it not feel awkward to use “they” for a single person, but my brain’s internal objections about grammar are much less important than addressing actual human beings in a way that makes them feel seen and acknowledged
Stolen from Alec Muffett on Threads, since nobody uses Threads. I really only use Bluesky and Mastodon, I like both for different reasons. Anyone who says Mastodon is “boring” hasn’t found the right people to follow, but I agree that can be challenging. https://www.threads.net/@alecmuffett/post/CwXFwq9IXnu/
