However, devious and self-centered behavior wasn't limited to Henry VIII, but was well-played throughout history. But as witnessed in this ‘short’ regarding The Dark Secrets of Farleigh Hungerford Castle: A Taste of the Dead, disgusting conduct can be found anywhere and only goes to show that people will and can do ANYTHING. However, this one truly blew my mind, so I hope you have a strong stomach!

Oh, as a birder, this is a great day. I ran across an unfamiliar species in my yard and not only that, was able to get a superb shot of the little guy. He's been identified as an American Tree Sparrow. I think he's just gorgeous and very photogenic.

While we often point to the Carrington Event of 1859, (that knocked out all telegraph communications around the world), as a worst-case scenario, for solar storms, the 774-75 AD storm was at least 10 times stronger.

Not an aurora???

Many throughout the world were able to experience another great evening of auroras on New Year’s Day 2025. However, there’s a catch, some actually saw what are known as SAR arcs. These were first discovered in 1956. Researchers weren’t sure what they were and gave them the misleading name, Stable Auroral Red arcs.
