I know attendance is down, but it needs to be straight up zero.

Watched Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3 with the kids tonight. I edited about 20 minutes out of the movie, and it flows much better. The kids all enjoyed it, but the 5 year olds were crying like Niagara Falls during some parts. Overall, not a bad ending to the MCU for us. And this is definitely the end. We skipped most of the films since Endgame (Spider-Man excluded), and we're writing the whole thing off after this.

Farewell, MCU - it was fun. Time for us to move on.

My cat is currently nuts and running around in my tiny office warbling and trying to destroy every piece of paper he finds.

I keep looking at him and saying, "Dude!?" but so far it has had no effect.

Not sure what your point is. Did you even watch the video? Yes, selective editing is a tool used by everyone everywhere, but that doesn't automatically negate everything shown in the video. Or do you honestly think there were thousands of hours of these people being rational and polite with the black guy that was left on the editing room floor just to "make a point"?

One should judge the merit of an idea based on the idea itself and not whether some other group has or has not made use of it.

Totalitarians also probably endorse 3 meals a day. Doesn't make it evil.

There is an infinite amount of conjecture we can argue about to no end. At some point, one has to realize that such conjecture can only serve as partial context and cannot hold as much sway as the actual information being presented.

Efficient markets? Science? Democracy? Let's not be naïve.

We live in an age of unprecedented regulation and market manipulation, radical medical mandates and dubious pharma "science" and the biology of transgenderism, and unrestrained government corruption and law enforcement overreach.

Caring about being informed and caring for one's own is an objective good. Thinking we can make the "media environment" into something "good" is a quixotic goal.

I don't really get it. What's wrong with recording insane and idiotic things that people say and do in public and then sharing it so that people who aren't insane can ridicule it? If folks didn't want it recorded, why would they do it in public?

At this point Left and Right are meaningless designators. I hate Republican politicians as much as I hate Democrat politicians, and I use no social media outside of this account, so I don't care about clicks.

The false dichotomy you've created is totalitarianism or tribal warfare, and the abstract, unrealistic solution you've proposed is "everyone can live in harmony if we all be nice to each other."

And to be a good liberal you've thrown in a dash of snark against religion for no reason at all.
