@botvolution Yeah, and their main criterion appears to be popularity, which makes sense. They could have been more clear about it.

99 BPM. Duly noted. Would have been interesting to have seen the effects of even slower tempos.
This essay is fucking amazing. #Dune
Speaking of fave bits from the #DavidLynch version of #Dune, I absolutely adore the opening scene, especially when the Guild Navigator engages the Emperor in small talk before getting down to the brass tacks. 😄
Navigator: “We have just folded space from IX”
Emperor: “Yes? How was your journey?”
Navigator: “Many machines on IX. (dramatic pause) New machines.”
Emperor (looking worried): “Oh. Yes?”
Navigator: “Better than those on Richesse.”
Myeah, how about no?

@botvolution That's what I like about modular.
Pourquoi pas?

@botvolution @flockofnazguls Okay, I replaced the vid with a YouTube link — now it should work for everyone.
@botvolution @flockofnazguls Oh that’s weird! Other people are seeing it.
Here’s a little clip of me playing around with a neat visual synth called VOSIS Pro, an ‘image sonification app’ that uses an image to generate sounds. Gimmicky, but also kinda neat.
Less outrage, more outrageousness.
@kel I've been pondering this as well. I think a lot of it stems from a sense of helplessness and powerlessness about the state of the world. By stirring up outrage in social media, people get that dopamine hit of validation when like-minded people agree with them.
@_slotek_ @kel @MatthewKay This has to be psychologically wreaking havoc with us as a population. It's not healthy. And Big Social knows exactly what it's doing.
@kel @_slotek_ @MatthewKay I've definitely been enjoying Masto more, but my plucky little filter that removes as many political posts as possible is really straining under the load these days.
The performative virtue signaling from so-called 'progressives' on the far left is not as toxic as the garbage spewed by the far right, but it's annoying AF nevertheless. A pox on both their houses.
Typical conversation at Casa Nazgul over martinis:
(Taking a sip) Me: "Ahhhhh, mother's milk"
They: "Did you know gin has also been called 'mother's ruin' ?"
Me: "Well then, it's a good thing I'm not a mother!"
Weird music for weird times.Bespoke beats, delicious drones, modular mayhem, subversive samples. Outsider AF. All sonics are 100% human-generated. “The street finds its own uses for things.” - William Gibson
