Elon let thousands of actual Nazis back onto Xitter under his selective, BS "free speech" rationale. And now, he is taking a poll to see if the Anti-freakin'-Defamation League should be kicked off of Twitter?!?! Worse still, those thousands of Nazis will determine if the ADL stays or goes b/c they were the constituency most willing to pay for blue-check marks?!?

Here is the government's description of the "smoking gun"' audio recording. It's bad. It clearly shows mens rea for several of the charges and likely fulfills the actus reus for the espionage charges as well (insofar as the recording includes Trump disclosing information within the classified document(s)).

This is so unbelievably reckless. Trump really has no regard for US national security.

One clear theme of the indictment is that Trump was directly involved in the storage of document boxes, including making some of the most indefensible decisions about where and when those documents were stored at Mar-a-Lago.

@SteveBellovin @blakereid @mattblaze I've switched over to using Markdown for writing and it's working surprisingly well. I use VS Code for drafting (Zettlr is also pretty good) and Pandoc for conversion. I'm working on a Python package for the automatic, simple, dynamic assembly of books or law review articles from multiple markdown files after having too much trouble with Quarto. I still use Word when I get a file already in that format. But my original writing is all in Markdown.

The two big differences between Markdown and all the rest, though, are that it has a very small learning curve and there are some elegant interfaces.

The biggest shortcoming, imho, is that Markdown doesn't have document footers. So, footnotes appear as endnotes in the document until you convert the document. That's not too big of a deal, though. 1/

That's one of the reasons that splitting a document into multiple files works better (they all appear as one workspace with links on the side to click on specific files). When you use pandoc and combine the documents, all of the footnotes are renumbered appropriately and appear as they normally would.
On the upside for Markdown, auto-completion, brought from the coding world, makes using Zotero even easier. 2/
