@thomasjorgensen ooh thank you! One thing that I'm seeing right away: it only syncs external calendars once a week by default but that is adjustable by "the admin." Is there a way to pay enough money to change that to one hour? Or an API that I can write a script to do it?

@romromrom hm, that is cool because the French government is a lot more serious about digital sovereignty and I feel like their network infra will be a lot more resilient to, uh, geopolitical events. I don't know French but machine translation usually works well enough. Will check it out!

Well, I'm trying out a The Good Cloud free instance of Nextcloud which is extra cool because it's located here in the Netherlands. I'll need to do email and web hosting separately but that seems fine. I'm hearing the most recommendations for Migadu for email.

@andor I mean, hosting this kind of a thing doesn't particularly make business sense for individual users. I think Google only does it to capture small businesses before they become big businesses that make them money

@invernomut0 I like having DNS separate from everything so I can redirect to a new service, but otherwise my only really important service is email. I'm looking more for the ability to communicate and collaborate with other people than to host services. My web sites aren't that important

Honestly my ideal world is one European provider for all of hosted Collabora, email, calendar, and web hosting that allows static websites, but I haven't been able to find a hosted Collabora offering that allows me to buy a single license and includes all that other stuff

@chx hm, the current docs say there is a spam folder for Infomaniak email and that you can even choose which folder it is - is this up to date?

@andor thank you! I'm attempting to buy a hosted document collaboration system (ideally Collabora) but most people selling it start at 100 licenses and go up

@aki if you already have Wireguard set up, then you don't need the main offer for personal use which is a client that does all the setup for you. The rest of the features are little convenience things or stuff for enterprise users. If you want something for less-technical family/friends it's attractive. I'm still using it for accessing California government websites that geoblock for no good reason 😭
