Until what you invoke with xargs is shell, and so much of unix is implemented in shell script.

@mmasnick The point of building version one is to build the team that can build version two.

Someone else can build Twitter today with more success than Twitter can. They're partly stuck with "can't get there from here," but also fired the people who know why they didn't do the things that they didn't, or backed out.
