@killyourfm not really. Maybe a bit of retro gaming and generally seeing what it can do. I'm hoping to get one with an SSD for around $200. I'll have to be patient but that's part of the fun.
@killyourfm why over-complicate things? You have huge reach here (and on other socials still I assume?)
Tons of people here followed your recent thread about the ROG Ally. If it's just a creative itch you're looking to scratch, what better place than truly open and federated social media?
@killyourfm 4/6 of these are gaming-related. Not really a surprise given how much passion you have for gaming. It's only really equalled (or maybe surpassed?) by your passion for music.
It seems like your work situation is pretty stable at the moment so I say follow your passion.
I'm not going to be a reply guy so I'll just say it here. Please don't do that meme where you put a clap emoji between every word in a sentence. It makes it a nightmare for people using a screen reader.
I know I'm not the best when it comes to accessibility but I try my best, and this is an obvious thing you can (not) do to help.
I need to edit an svg file so I just typed sudo apt install inkscape and a few seconds later the svg is open in a professional-level vector graphics application. I sometimes forget why I love open source so much, but then I do something like this and appreciate how lucky we are to have so many devs and packagers and testers etc working on open source operating systems and applications.
So thanks everyone. Thanks for making Linux and open source so great.
Everyone said get a Brother printer so I bought a 3-in-1 scanner and printer. There seems to be something wrong with it though. I plugged it into a Linux laptop, opened a document, pressed print, selected the printer, and it printed. Then I opened simple-scan, pressed scan, and it scanned.
This isn't how printers and scanners are supposed to work. Where do I install the drivers that don't work properly etc? This was no fun. I demand a refund.
@killyourfm I saw. I know a few people with dedicated music devices but I just use my phone. I only really have a few GB of local music and NewPipe takes care of the rest. It makes sense for people with a large collection though. And obviously fuck relying 100% on Spotify etc.
Regular reminder that crypto (currencies) is a scam, and anyone encouraging you to get involved with it is doing so because they need new people to come in and prop up the pyramid scheme.
@killyourfm I stopped drinking after a really heavy new year night out once. After 3 weeks I was bored shitless and started drinking again. Good luck though!
90s rock music runs through the veins of @killyourfm, so it's no surprise that you'll get exactly that if you listen to his new EP. Emotional lyrics about love and loss, loud guitars, and catchy melodies. Check it out if that sounds up your alley:
