Yeah no prob, would love to catch up. I've been kind of so busy with my hobbies I have lost interest in the fedi for a bit, I realized I was wasting too much time on it when I could be progressing in my skills.
Family and life has been better, mostly I am either working or sleeping or dicking around on the computer. I see my kids on my days off, like today we celebrated my youngest son's birthday, he turned 8 years old. They are getting so big and growing so fast! 😭
We are all tripping out on these crazy Serum sounds, but yeah I get it, that's why do jump up mostly but include jungle and rollers too in my sets, it's tough, the new sound is just that, but its new. Has loads of room for improvement, but instead of hating it I want to take it and make it better. You liked my demos so I know thats a cool sound that co-exist with this one. I'm also with Burt Cope about adding to new style garage to the mix too 😉
My specialty is and will be merging the new style with old style and that's what I sonically explore with my music. Don't worry, I'm still morning the death of 2017-2022 rollers but a nu-wave has been killing it on all sub genres, Jump-Up has just risen up as a worthy contender to Dubstep and Riddim thats all that is but the junglist, and rollers artists are still killing it. One of my fav rollers artist is Dreadnaught.
I didn't make this, this is Nick the Lot's unreleased dubs and he's one of my favorite artists in the scene right now next to Simula and Formula. Enjoy! NICK THE LOT - 100_ UNRELEASED DUBS MIX 3.mp3
I'm so serious get this mastering compressor, its for mastering only but its fire, only $30 atm. Put it on anything and crank the input and audio magic I can't believe it. Also oversample to 8x to get closer to the hardware.
Welp, my DAW is Jeskola Buzz, which is abandonware from 2016 for windows that a small community has kept alive since 2023 (I use the community edition). Another man who goes by POLAC makes a super genius VST plugin machine for buzz that will basically load 95% of every 32/64 bit VST2/3 without the need of a bridge.
I used a native 909 clone that is part of buzz to generate the beginning lesser sound and a plugin called visco for the more dominate drum sound that came in. I used detuna, spacer (spectral sounds), spread lite from yum audio, and the Shadow Hills master class compressor A, I think I used the nickel transistor setting.
Then I quick and dirty mastered it with the SPL Iron plugin at 8x oversampling.
