Man is in the forest.
Here are a couple of white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus), a doe and her fawn, that I saw this morning during our walk.

Gotta go!
I like this photograph of a blue jay (Cyanocitta cristata), but it certainly won't win any photography awards. The shutter speed was too low, I was setup for low light conditions. But when opportunity knocks, you don't have time to fiddle with the camera, you have to take the shot. I have three different programs to sharpen a photo though none seem to ever do an adequate job. I ran this one through Focus Magic, which advertises that it's used by the CIA. What happened to those apps that I see on spy movies where they take and completely out of focus pinpoint of a face and end up with a perfect picture.

Okay now I'm just being silly.
I woke up when my clock said 06:00 AM this morning. I have one of those atomic alarm clocks (I don't think that means it has a tiny reactor inside) that gets the correct time from a time server somewhere - or maybe it's just magic.
It dawned on me that I was up before dawn. ? Well ... bottom line, I got an hour less sleep than I thought. ? I guess I knew that already but didn't bother to think about it. Hmmm ... I may have mentioned at some point over the past few months that I can ramble, when I'm in the mood.
I had a sunset photograph that I was tweaking. Then, I tweaked some more, and again some more. I may have over tweaked. ?
Thanks James! I had no idea why they are called atomic clocks, now I know. I'll never know how that works but I kind of have a clue albeit a bit fuzzy. But that's okay, I have a grandfather clock, I know its mechanical, it has components, gears, springs, weights, etc. But still don't know how it works.
I'm still trying ...
This pretty Eastern bluebird was on the powerline across the road from my front yard. That is where we usually end our morning walk. I've been trying to lure these birds into my backyard where they might perch in the trees. So far, I haven't seen any there or seen any evidence that they've been there.

Are you following me?
This house finch seems to look back over its shoulder as if annoyed by being followed or bothered.
The photo turned out much better than I thought it would. I like it.

Retired soldier, I spent about 30 years in the military (USMC/Army). Also recently retired computer systems engineer. So, I'm just plain retired. I need something to do so, I decided on photography and bird watching as a hobby. Unless otherwise stated, all photographs I post are my own.I take pictures and want to share them with you, so please follow my blog.#TheScienceofBirds#birds #birdwatching #photography #photographer
