Nazis killed ppl with disabilities. So I get annoyed at all the hypocrites who put “Woke AF” or “Antifascist” or “ally” in their bio, but then can’t be bothered to do the bare minimum on here by labeling images with AltText for those with vision impairments. If you struggle to come up with AltText, you can use the Alt4Me hashtag; there are many ppl on here who will write it for you. Then you just edit your toot and copy-paste it into the text box after hitting “edit” on the image.🧵
Does anyone have experience #dyeing 100% cotton fabric that's already an off-white color? My spouse bought me a lavender hoodie for Xmas, but they sent a different hoodie than what is pictured on their website--notice the different zipper, drawstring ends, and cuffs.
I want something like the original product picture, but have little hope it's possible, so I was thinking of buying this other brand (but it only comes in off-white) and dying it myself.
I feel like the people who call AI “just another tool to create art, like Photoshop or a DAW” think a musician is “just pushing buttons” on a MIDI controller to manifest the bleeps and bloops. 😏 🙄 😂
I saw a discussion on someone else’s post quoting Chuck Wendig where the person who posted it (a fine artist painter) AND the person trying to justify their use of the Pixel Plagiarism Machines BOTH equated photography with just “pushing a button” and I was like 😳 😬 and decided not to join in on that convo!
I’m suspicious of all the AI advocates who want to reduce humans down to their level of intelligence and capabilities in order to elevate AI to something it’s not.
You are not a stochastic parrot. And you have free will, emotions, preferences, hopes, dreams, unique experiences, and worth beyond your intelligence and capabilities. A beautifully illustrated essay on how we are not at all like AI:
@Gargron AI art, especially when compared to original human art, is fairly easy to spot—it lacks a certain mood or vibe—it conveys no emotion and lacks a point of view. It’s something about the way it attempts to use “light”—it’s directionless and without vision. Even a Thomas Kincaid painting conveys more emotion and artistic perspective than an AI generated image.
An #introductions post for Thor: Like his brother Doots, Thor had feline herpes as a baby & as a result has a wonky left eye. We think his daddy must be a Ragdoll, since he and Doots’ mom is a grey tabby. His fur is soft like cotton candy spun from silk. He has no undercoat. Thor hates being alone. He demands pets (w/BOTH hands) and brushing multiple times a day. He does “stretchy snuggles” with me every morning, rubbing up against me while I do yoga.
Streaming music is a great way to discover new music, but if you want indie artists to have the time, money, & emotional support needed to continue making new music, you need to purchase their music outright. This is the last check I got from my distributor for all streaming royalties for the past 3 years. It’s “sandwich money” as Weird Al would say.
@ryanhoulihan I had that problem yesterday. For me, it was a severe lack of sleep that my meds couldn’t overcome. But I also read that generic meds are allowed to have a higher rate of variance in how much active ingredients are in them, so occasionally you can get one that just isn’t enough ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
1. I still <3 memes 2. I mostly post about #cats, food, #music, politics, and #memes. 3. I am half-deaf, #bionic, and have #ADHD 4. I make music using #AbletonLive 5. I like to #sing and #dance 6. I play #HammeredDulcimer, keys, & guitar. 7. #Introvert 8. I recently took up #running, and now I have Crunchy Bone Syndrome 9. I <3 beaches, mountains, and warm weather 10. I like #SciFi and #Fantasy 11. #Cheez-its are made by Sunshine, not Nabisco.
A question for people who have NOT listened to my music: Based on my name and profile artwork, what genre/style of music do you think I make?
Don’t cheat and listen to my music first. I really want to know if I’m coming across accurately with my mastodon presence. I would say “branding” but that sounds so corporate. 🤢 I’m just a person trying to make sure I don’t give people the wrong impression.
