@alex In practical terms, my god is SQL. The same way people pray during hard times, I just think about writing complex sql queries. And it gets me pumped every time. -

@mint @alex @ne @hj using singular terms is pretty common in db and api design. if you have a list of notes and you index into it, you would expect user[0] to return the user at index 0. if it's users[0] it looks like a nested array structure. similarly with api design, if you're already doing /users/:id then what are you supposed to use if you want to show a list of registered users? you have to use /users/ or rename it /all-users/ or something dumb -

@mint @alex @hj @ne I use /ap/{actor,following,followers,inbox,outbox}/:id for activity stuff so I can easily just redirect nginx to forward /ap/* and then for the frontend I use /user/:id /followers/:id /thread/:id -

@NEETzsche @aa1874 @ryo it used to be pretty annoying back when you had to explicitly declare all the lifetimes but they improved it a lot and there's not a lot of gripes I have about it. my main issues with it are matters of preference, like I think it'd be cool if they had done implicit async await rather than explicit, or stuff that hasn't been implemented yet but are being worked on (enum variant specialization, better const generics, etc). the library ecosystem is already pretty great but it doesn't compete with npm. if it was a shitty language people would be able to attack it for something other than being related to trannies -

@Prude @Jackuu @wildgoose999 there were threats to swat and murder in DMs. that's a criminal threat for example under californian law penal code 422. your server is nevada, they also have a similar criminal threat law NRS 200.571
>To be guilty of harassment NRS 200.571, you must have knowingly, intentionally made the threat. It must have been a threat to inflict real harm on another person, and there must have been a reasonable fear created in the other person that the threat would, in fact, be carried through on. -
