I like #Mbin.

I’d like to get away from #Reddit but I’ve heard sketchy things about the people behind Lemmy and I haven’t seen any other platform coming up better.

What’s your take?

Since you can follow across platforms in the #fediverse, how do you avoid just seeing the same posts across #Mastodon #lemmy #Friendica and #pixelfed ?

Anyone else is still on KBin? I haven't been but I would like to take another good look on how to use it better and move away my reddit addiction. How's Lemmy so far? Are we still hating on the devs? 👀

UPDATE 2 on #lemmy

Many people seem to agree not to use the #Lemmy developers' own servers.

Regarding the software itself, there are new discussions going on.

Due to the big interest in an alternative to #Reddit, there is now a discussion of having a #fork from #Lemmy to dissociate with the authoritarian-leaning Dev team.

As I have just been informed, the programming language Rust seems to have advantages...

I have removed my indirect endorsement of #Lemmy as a substitute for #Reddit.

The developers have a very dubious stance towards human rights and do not object to people celebrating #Stalin's birthday, a man who directly and indirectly killed 6-9 million people.
Besides, they apparently are die-hard communists, supporting the #Kremlin (#tankies):

#Pixelfed just overtook #Lemmy as the 4th most used #Fediverse software. Here’s the raw numbers in terms of total users:

• Pixelfed: 474,151
• Lemmy: 470,716

Pixelfed is moving close towards overtaking #Peertube, which is currently the 3rd most popular Fediverse service.
