Desdinova@nocontexttrek There was so much drama going on because of Roddenberry's lawyer (of all people) meddling with the writing, casting and show running that even his long-time friends who worked with him on Star Trek since the 60s were relieved when he died so they could actually get to work making a good show.
There's a reason Roddenberry was banned from the Wrath of Kahn. For TNG they wanted to put his name in the credits, write a check and for him to do nothing else.
