I am pretty sure this is what contributes a lot to alternative OSes and the trend will continue. But I wouldn't expect Windows leaving corporate sector too soon.

Some people are just stupid :D But also XP was ruling desktops for a very very long time and there's a lot of weird old software left since that era. Not everything runs on modern Windows and sometimes you just need this specific piece of dino poop. So XP is still in use sometimes even though it is a complete nightmare to run nowadays. My previous workplace had some of it.
