However, the entry point, the title i.e. "laut", to this translation keeps eluding me.
And for this kind of translations, I need to be inspired, too. Any ideas?

"The night was loud"
"The night was noisy"

just doesn't ring a bell in me.

I don't want to give away the ending and I don't want it to be sexual either.
It out to be ambigous, intially, not clear...
