@aerique @Mehrad @jacksonchen666 honestly this is a take which I am really uncomfortable with. It's exercising a kind of hearing privilege: it'd be more convenient to you, as a hearing person, if you could just learn one sign language and be done with it. But sign language doesn't exist for your sake, it was not designed for hearing people's convenience -- in fact, it was not designed at all. It grew organically, like all other languages, by and for the Deaf.
