@killyourfm come to think of it, it might also be that I fell in with all the "ooraah" after the 9/11 attacks and now that I'm older feel ashamed.
And I think 24 with it's theme of "whatever it takes" played at least a part in that. I was also just 14 in 2001.
It's possible that I might be able to unfocus my eyes enough to enjoy at least the first few seasons of 24.
It's also possible that my memory is playing tricks on me and I'm unfair towards the show.
