@rosey I'm not sure how that'll work, as they'll just refuse to start tying. -

@PalePimp @lain @sun >multiple disconnected companies working with a common shared core.
The core is GNU, which targets GNU/Hurd or GNU/Linux-libre.
Don't forget that GNU and X11 predate Linux.
>the people who wrote the ls or the cat command do not work for the same company that does the kernel so to speak.
The people who wrote those commands are from GNU and do not work on or for Linux. -

@rosey That'll probably be a nice holiday as long as the torture method isn't proprietary. -

@lightweight >.Net framework, even though it's ostensibly open source
The .NET framework isn't even source available - you can't compile each version without microsoft's proprietary compiler that definitely doesn't insert proprietary malware. -

@skylar >entire linux operating system
Sorry to break it to you, but Linux is not an Operating System as it doesn't operate on its own.
You deserve a fully free GNU/Linux-libre install and the absolutely proprietary RPi or ESP32 fall way too short. -

@sun There's already plenty of proprietary software developers working on the kernel, Linux.

@mangeurdenuage Proprietary robots will be able to put people in a mass grave just fine soon, even if they were already retired. -

@mangeurdenuage I'm pretty sure some sci-fi literature starred devices that were similar to demon rectangles.
George Orwell's prediction of TVs that listen to you have now become reality.

@mangeurdenuage @Hyperhidrosis @jeremiah It's not an ad blocker or a web firewall.
It's a malware loading denier that also has some functionality to hide HTML elements that nobody should see.
