@PatrickoftheG Prayers, liturgies and readings in the vernacular are best for Catholics in general: it would be good for us all to read the Bible in Hebrew and Greek, but alas that's not feasible for most of us.
The prime virtue of Latin is not that it's authentic to the Saviour (who would have mostly spoken Aramaic), but that it's universal across space and time for the Roman Catholic Church. Pre-1964, all Catholics could readily pray and sing together.
