    @bici @geoff_eg I'm usually too nervous about the state of the road surface to worry about my bike. Under the right circumstances I can cross 50 km/h, but only on sections I know well (and actually the highest speed sections are usually just past the downslopes¹, which makes them less scary for me since I'm not as stuck if I want to slow).

      Going south on Keele from Kirby Road to about McNaughton is always one of our (TBN's) fastest sections. From Kirby, you can easily get enough speed to hit the top of the railway bridge at 30km/h or more. Then if the Teston Road light is green, you can accelerate down and carry that speed into the still mildly downward sloping section of Keele beyond. (I was going slow today, so I was only at ~23 km/h at the bridge top, then I crossed the Teston lights at about 44 km/h and hit 52.8 just below.)
