955_36@aral @villares We were forced into an $20K upgrade for my wife's cochlear implants when Med-El discontinued making their proprietary rechargeable batteries the old ones used. Even with insurance, we were left with $7K out of pocket. All because they quit making the batteries after 10 years and like all rechargeable batteries, they eventually have to be replaced.
