There was a point of contention with his criticism of Francis in his book, with a forward by Pope emeritus Benedict, wherein the cloistered former Pope's writings were removed and Sarah stepped down from his position. I am fuzzy on the details, but, from a purely religious aspect, Cardinal Sarah appears to be a very traditional anti-modernist guy. We can all have opinions over whether an African can or should be made Bishop of Rome, but I will continue to respect the man for what I have seen from him.
