486 was the second 32-bit x86, full vmem. Wikkypeeja claims:
> However, unlike the i386SX, which had a 16-bit external data bus and a 24-bit external address bus (compared to the fully 32-bit i386DX, its higher-cost counterpoint), the i486SX was entirely 32-bit.
The reason the 486SX existed, according to legend (Wikkypeeja does not mention this) was that Intel had a batch of 486s with bad FPUs, so they just disabled them and sold them as SXs.
