486 was the second 32-bit x86, full vmem. Wikkypeeja claims:

The reason the 486SX existed, according to legend (Wikkypeeja does not mention this) was that Intel had a batch of 486s with bad FPUs, so they just disabled them and sold them as SXs.- Haelwenn /элвэн/ :triskell: likes this.

@TeaTootler @jae @m0xEE I remember having to turn off transparency on SNES emulators but otherwise, the 486 worked fine.
