To be blunt, this sounds like an invitation to do a bunch of hard work only to either (a) have my voice drowned out by people of the demographic majority or (b) be given the pressure to represent all non-white people who aren’t in the room.

Building relationships is a years-long and decades-long process. My recommendation is that if you’re serious about this, just start the thing up and then spend the time to build those relationships.
