I traced the pedigrees of both Theodore and Franklin D. Roosevelt on https://www.familysearch.org/en/tree/person/LV46-YF6. The Van Rosenvelts from whom they descend are definitely Sephardic Jews. According to Judaism, the maternal line determines Jewishness, but I know mischlings with only paternal lineage who identify as Jewish. FDR sided with the Jews in WW2, but I don't know Teddy's history well enough.
