When I was renting office space, there was a company in the same building that made educational software. They were closing the office/company but the owner had a friend at Sun and in the late 90s, Sun was trying to get as many discounted machines into the hands of anyone remotely connected to education. It basically sat there unused, full of machines from 1999, most of which had never been powered on. I saw it in the hallway and asked where it was going and got it for free because they were paying dudes to haul it off.

Unfortunately, I could not bring most of those machines with me during the :brucecampbell::callmesnake: but if I die I will bring that rack to hell with me.

It's great. I mostly use it to run drawterm on the monitor on the left but it's speedy enough for regular desktop stuff. Same CPU as currently runs FSE (though the net connection is shit at the moment, so the latency is terrible). RK3588 is pretty beefy and handles whatever I throw at it without getting warm.
