this, it hides replies into folded threads and it's way too easy to miss discussions happening in a day-old thread. my workflow with slack is proactively replying to any posts where I presume that I might want to participate in the thread and then checking the "Threads" tab every once in a while
I prefer the way mattermost does this (all replies in the channel are visible, threads are color-coded or openable in a side panel)

also slack markdown support is just bad.
