If we take what you say about Ukraine being a Russian puppet as true, why is only one side or the other guilty? Why is it a crime for Russia to influence Ukraine but not the US? You just want Russia to submit. No one’s a threat when everyone submits to the US. It’s impossible for Russia to exist and integrate into the Western order, because the US views it as a geopolitical rival. That’s the subtext of this war, and Russia has made the decision to survive.
