But, for example, Apple makes it needlessly, painfully difficult to use iPhones or iPads as storage devices or to conduct file transfer to/from them. I suspect because they don't want people pirating media and transferring it to an iPad or whatever for later viewing. If it's streaming off a media server somewhere you can probably just connect to it via an app or browser I guess. @parker
