@fiore even this is not nessecarily a 'recent' phenomenon. the extreme desire of women without recipracation made for the the semi-autobiographical text The Sorrows of Young Werther is about on par with the incel manifesto now, and had a lot of copycat suicides in its date of publication hundreds of years ago. i dont think there are 'childlike' facial traits that are being seeked out tho. the closest i can think of is those 'human barbie doll' people you see in japan which are not seen as widely attractive and examined entirely as freaks.
