Philip Weiss (Phil in SF)@SRLevine @Bronwyn OpenOffice is still around, but I would (and did) recommend LibreOffice over OpenOffice. There's a complicated history of why they split, but the result is that OpenOffice doesn't have as wide of a userbase or as good of a feature set.
