Daniel DC2ZP@tk this is a rather small space for a HF antenna. Either go for portable right away and maybe only have a small vhf/uhf station for local repeater communications at home, or look into magnetic loop antennas. Short verticals for like cars, usually need a decent counter poise which is hard to have on a balcony and the performance is poor. My first ham station was in central Berlin with just a balcony. This is why during my Berlin years I mostly worked portable.
