The key to having a reasonably comfy Apple experience is to change as little config options as possible. When you try to make the device work the way you want and not the way Apple intends, the façade quickly crumbles.

That said, some settings have to be changed, because the default state makes no sense. Like the image format for example, because almost nothing can display HEIF in $current_year.
