"innovations" since Windows 7:
* EFI and secureboot where Linux won't even install unless it's signed by a cryptographic key provided by Microsoft
* They're back to updates sometimes blasting away your second OS. This falls into the category of "we're not doing it on purpose but we also don't give a fuck about other os because we have no incentive to and it would take effort"
