The Roman Catholic Church has writings on this in painful detail (because of course they do), such as Humanae Vitae. A husband and wife ought to be having proper sex. That is not always an option at all times.

Sorry @d0c40r0 but you're wrong on this one... sodomy is defined as oral or anal sex. I looked up the etymology and the key thing from tradition is that it generally related to same sex or beastiality, although KJV uses it as a general term for whore (sodomitesse). Getting a BJ from your wife ≠ anal sex or beastiality, but it is a non procreative sexual act. Handles and foot jobs wouldn't necessarily fall under sodomy by this definition.
