I've wondered if melting ice off of the poles, land-locked or otherwise, wouldn't change the planetary gyroscope enough to get volcanoes firing off as plates shift to accommodate the movement of so much mass from the far north and south to the equator and elsewhere.

Geology. It's a growth industry again.
