It's not actually all that hard (I mean yes it's hard, but not insurmountable), but they're all approaching the problem with wrong paths anyone competent knows can't work well and don't mimic successful living beings. The few promising projects are all amateurs and look more like marionettes than conventional multi axis jointed robot limbs.
