I suppose it might be true. Would be interesting if KC1 had let you pursue a sexual interest in men but gave you a religious neurosis if you did it, and made you ostracised if you were discovered. Kind of like how if you play a woman in Mount and Blade nobody takes you seriously and you have to work harder to build allies and prove yourself.
