The idea of megaservers goes directly against the concept of the Fediverse. If you are able to self-host, self-host. If you are not, make sure you don't all congregate on a small number of servers, but spread out to smaller servers. This also helps tremendously in spreading out the costs and blast radius when issues arise.

A small Fediverse server for 10-20 people costs about 5 bucks per month. We need more of those. Do your part in making the Fediverse resilient.
