John Brewer@skinnylatte I'd be tempted to stay in/around SF. The city has got reasonably good public transportation (by US standards). And there's enough inside the city limits to keep you busy the whole time. You can also take motor coach tours to places like Muir Woods in Marin County (just across the Golden Gate Bridge). And Caltrain to San Jose and BART to pretty much anywhere in the East Bay (and even down to San Jose).
