I'm not here to shill anything just stating what I know from book learning and first hand experience. But if you're interested in the connection between respiratory infections, look into H1N1 and the delayed onset because of other diseases already in circulation. I think it was France that had a month or two lag and reduced total infection because flu season was ending when it ramped up.
