Backups of people's databases, sure, maybe. But it's endlessly mirrored. The original passwd file on the Bell Labs Unix system is still here.

Plus, you know, I am writing a thing that is already able to shuffle fedi around, peer to peer, and has some pretty good durability characteristics. I did name the streaming of the import process "Apotheosis" for a good reason. :revolvertan:

Barring a catastrophe that destroys continuity of data forever, I think we're stuck with this data surviving.
